Frequently Asked Questions
What is Family First Stroke Care Planning?
Family First Stroke Care Planning provides educational guidance and support for individuals and families navigating stroke recovery. Our goal is to help families better understand recovery expectations, swallowing safety concerns, care transitions, and the many decisions that can arise after a stroke.
Why was Family First Stroke Care Planning created?
After decades working within healthcare systems, Liza saw how overwhelmed many families felt once they returned home following a stroke. Family First Stroke Care Planning was created to provide families with experienced, compassionate guidance focused on clarity, support, and understanding during a difficult and uncertain time. Sessions are conducted remotely by phone or video at a scheduled time. Families have the opportunity to discuss their concerns, ask questions, and receive experienced guidance tailored to their specific situation. Visit our What to Expect page to learn more.
How long are sessions?
Session length depends on the support option selected. Most initial sessions are approximately 45–60 minutes, with follow-up sessions typically lasting 30–45 minutes.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes. In addition to single-session guidance, we offer ongoing support options for families who may benefit from continued follow-up and guidance as recovery progresses. To learn more about our pricing and packages, click here to view our Start the Conversation page.
Is there a fee to submit an inquiry form?
No. There is no cost or obligation to reach out and share your situation through our Start the Conversation page.
